Recently, the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) released the "2022 World Robots - Service Robots" report, which summarizes the development of global service robots in the past year.
The report shows that in 2021, the global sales of professional service robots will increase by 37%, and the growth rate is amazing. By region, the strongest growth was in Europe with a 38% market share, followed by North America with 32% and finally Asia with 30%.
Professional service robots in five fields are the most popular
Marina Bill, president of the International Federation of Robotics, said: "Service robots for professional use are very diverse, they are often designed to perform specific tasks and can be found in warehouses, hospitals and airports, and even help milking cows automatically on dairy farms."
The International Federation of Robotics summarizes the five categories of professional service robots that will sell the most in 2021, namely logistics robots, hotel robots, medical robots, professional cleaning robots and agricultural robots.
The first is logistics robots. According to statistics, about 121,000 professional service robots will be sold in 2021, and more than one-third of them will be logistics robots, mainly used for cargo transportation. Therefore, most logistics robots are in indoor environments. , the huge demand has also brought the number of manufacturers producing logistics robots to 286.
The second is hotel robots. Although it has increased by 85% year-on-year, its market share is still small. Only 20,000 units have been sold in total. At present, the most used scenarios for hotel robots are food delivery and remote service.
The third is medical robots, which increased by 23% year-on-year to 14,823 units, most of which are surgical robots, followed by robots used for rehabilitation and non-invasive treatment, and the share of robots used for diagnosis is still relatively low.
The fourth is professional cleaning robots, which increased by 31% and sold more than 12,600 units, mainly due to the sterilization needs of various scenarios under the new crown epidemic. The demand for robots that spray disinfectant and use ultraviolet rays to eliminate viruses has increased greatly. The cleaning of scenes such as glass, swimming pools and solar panels is also gradually being taken up by robots.
Finally, there are agricultural robots. More than 8,000 units will be sold in 2021, an increase of 6%. Unlike ordinary expectations, the biggest application scenario of agricultural robots is not farming, but milking, barn cleaning, etc., which are used for planting. There are still not many robots, mainly because the planting scene is complex, and most of the robots that can only do simple and repetitive work are still unable to adapt.
